Elafonissi is on south west of Crete, 19 miles far from the gulf of Falasarna.
With our Sailing Boat the trip from the Falasarna gulf, takes about two hour and a half.
We anchor near the beach and we approach to the land with a small tender.
The beach is well organized with umbrellas, lifeguards, canteens with shaded seats, and showers.
This exotic place is very popular because of the shallow clear waters, white sand with pink peaces and because opposite the beach is the small island of Elafonissi.
The distance from the beach to the island is about 100 meters where you can getting there on foot very simple, since the sea forms a shallow lagoon, only one meter deep, between the beach and the Island.
The surreal beauty of this beach enchants anyone who visits and reminds you of exotic place. The sand is white with shades of pink, shades that come from the shells of the area.
Elafonissi has been voted by Tripadvisor users in 9th place in the list of the 25 best beaches in the world and in the 5th place among the 25 best Europeans.
Finally, let us mention that the area is a refuge for the Careta Careta turtle and has also been included in the Natura protected areas.
